    Housing Information
    Basic Allowance For Housing (BAH) gives active service members two options for housing; living on post or finding a home off-post within the community.

    • Once you have orders to move, contact The Military Housing Office. For General Inquiries, dial (910) 450-1628, #205 or #206, for Off-Base Referrals, dial (910) 450-1628, #219 or #220. Other contacts are listed by rank, click on the provided link for a full list. The Military Housing Office can answer all of your housing questions and provide services such as referrals, resolving tenant-landlord disputes, and guidance for entering lease agreements.

    MCAS New River is in the Jacksonville, North Carolina, area which has a population of about 70,000 people. Jacksonville is on the coast, and tends to have a wet, warm climate, with hot, humid summers and moderate winters. Other surrounding cities include Richlands, Hubert, Swansboro, Sneads Ferry, Maysville, Pumpkin Center, Half Moon.

    About the Installation
    Marine Corps Air Station New River is home to the Center for Naval Aviation Technical Training and the 362nd Training Squadron, Detachment 1, Operation Location 93A94 (USAF). MCAS New River is a helicopter base whose primary mission is to offer support for the Fleet Marine Force units. New River is also home to McCutcheon Field which was first established in 1972. New River is located near Jacksonville, North Carolina, and shares some facilities with Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune.
